CSC Pacific hosts a free monthly networking and speaker series aimed at athletes, coaches, students, and sport professionals. Past topics have included Sport Sponsorship, Canadian Sport for Life: From Playground to Podium, and the forthcoming session, Social Media: Marketing on a Budget. CSC PACIFIC/PACIFICSPORT ATHLETE ADVANCE: SUMMER 2011
The CSC Pacific/PacificSport Athletes Advance is an annual gathering of athletes and professionals aimed at educating and inspiring BC's current Olympic, Paralympic and World Championship athletes. Participants will have the opportunity to access practical workshops and seminars on topics that are relevant to the high performance athlete. The Advance is open to all CSC Pacific/PacificSport registered athletes and is free to attend.

AthletesCAN FORUM
The 2011 AthletesCAN forum from September 15th to 18th at the Westin Edmonton will bring together Canada's top sport leaders and high performance athletes to conduct interactive workshops, seminar and presentations. AthletesCAN is offering to cover the travel costs, meals and accomodation for one able-bodied and one disabled athlete representative from each sport to attend the conference. In order to attend the conference athletes must be a member of their sports National Team. BC FERRIES SPORT EXPERIENCE PROGRAM
Together BC Ferries and Sport BC offer a financial assistance program that aims to offset the cost of athletes traveling to and from competitions by ferry. To be eligible for the program, applicants must be competing in a sport that is a member organization of Sport BC. Applications are accepted between April 1st, 2011 and March 31st, 2012. CAN FUND
CAN Fund is a financial assistance program available to active national team athletes training to represent Canada internationally. It provides direct funding to athletes, creating the opportunity to focus on success instead of on financial hurdles. The next round of applications will be due in Fall 2011. CSC PACIFIC ATHLETE TRAVEL GRANT
CSC Pacific Victoria Campus is pleased to announce that provincially and nationally targeted athletes registered with CSC Pacific in Victoria can now receive travel assistance towards participation in national and international competitions. Each year twenty grants valued at $500 each will be awarded to deserving athletes from Victora, Whistler and Vancouver. *NEW* BC SPORT SCHOOL
Canadian Sport Centre Pacific is proud to introduce the pilot BC Sport School program launching in Victoria and Kelowna for the 2011-12 school year. The program is designed to alleviate the pressure high school student-athletes face as they balance their pursuit of academic and sport excellence. Athletes attend their regular school for half of the day to attain core graduation credits and spend the remaining part of the school day at the BC Sport School where they have access to Canadian Sport Centre experts for multi-sport dryland training, nutritional and mental performance education, tutors, elective courses pertaining to human performance and in some cases, post-secondary credit courses. HOW DO I RENEW MY CARD?
Athletes are notified that they are eligible to register by Sport Canada if they are AAP carded. You will not be notified by CSC Pacific to renew, so please contact your home Centre to verify whether you are eligible to renew. Athletes who have not been re-nominated for carding have access to 1 year of transition services through their Centre.
Please remember that athlete renewals must be initiated by the athlete and directed to Amy Dearden at 250.220.2531 or adearden@cscpacific.ca.
