Tyler Goodale — Strength and Conditioning Coach Canadian Sport Centre Pacific - Victoria Campus Telephone: (250) 220-2532 Tyler Goodale is Strength and Conditioning Coach for Canadian Sport Centre Pacific where he works with national team athletes from Rowing Canada, Swimming Canada, and Diving Canada. A graduate of the University of Manitoba (B.Sc) and the University of Victoria (M.Sc Exercise Physiology), Tyler is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a NCCP certified Olympic Weightlifting Coach. Tyler has also worked with professional and amateur athletes from the sports of hockey, tennis, track and field, and football. |

Chad has coached hundreds of emerging elite and high performance athletes from 9 different team sports (rugby, football, lacrosse, basketball, baseball, soccer, volleyball, hockey, field hockey) and 10 individual sports (sailing, golf, tennis, squash, wrestling, athletics, figure skating, downhill skiing, triathlon, swimming). When not coaching, Chad is a performance and personal training presenter for numerous sport and fitness associations.

Matt Barr — Strength and Conditioning Coach Canadian Sport Centre Pacific Performance Lab Matt Barr is a Strength and Conditioning Coach based in Victoria. Before joining the Canadian Sport Centre Pacific team, Matt gained experience at York University working with their varsity football, rugby, basketball, volleyball and soccer teams. He also served as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for both the Rugby Canada Senior Women’s 7’s and 15’s teams. Matt holds a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science degree from the University of Manitoba and a Master’s of Science degree in Biomechanics and Coaching from the University of Western Ontario. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and a NCCP Certified Olympic Weightlifting Coach. He will be working with rugby and rowing at the national level, select Paralympic athletes and a number of provincial programs. Matt currently trains and competes in weightlifting and has previously been competitive in the sports of rugby and hockey. |

Dr. Gord Sleivert — Vice-President Canadian Sport Centre Pacific - Victoria Campus Telephone: Dr. Sleivert has been working and studying in Applied Exercise and Sport Physiology for 15 years. The majority of his tertiary education was completed at the University of Victoria, in British Columbia but he also studied at the University of Queensland in Australia and the University of Alberta. Dr. Sleivert was a faculty member in the School of Physical Education at the University of Otago in New Zealand between 1994 and 2000 as an Exercise Physiologist and was Director of the Human Performance Centre from 1997-2000 and CEO of the NZ Academy of Sport: South, in 2000. He was appointed as Professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology at UNB in December, 2000 and after three years as Director of Graduate studies moved in 2004 to PacificSport Victoria. He is now the Vice President of Sport Performance of the Canadian Sport Centre Pacific (CSC Pacific), operating within BC in partnership with the network of PacificSport Centres. Dr. Sleivert was appointed as the Canadian Team Exercise Physiologist at the Athens 2004 Summer Olympics and continues working to enhance performance. |

James Brotherhood — Physiologist Canadian Sport Centre Pacific Performance Lab Telephone: (250) 220-2532 James Brotherhood is an exercise physiologist based out of Victoria who is predominately working with community and developing athletes in the laboratory, as well as assisting with provincial and national teams. He has a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology (MSc.) from the University of Victoria and is a Certified Exercise Physiologist through the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology. His academic interests include manipulation of training variables to positively affect an athlete’s physiology in competitive situations. He has an extensive background in sport and a passion for elite performance. Growing up, he played on provincial volleyball teams, both indoor and beach. He is currently a competitive rower, which he began during his undergraduate schooling. |
