Tracie Albisser, MSc, CSCS, Exercise Physiologist
Tracie Albisser is currently the Program Director for PacificSport Northern BC. She attended the University of British Columbia completing her Bachelors of Human Kinetics and Masters of Science in Kinesiology. She is a certified exercise physiologist (CEP) and course conductor for certified personal trainers with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiologist (CSEP) and a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Over the last 15 years of training experience she has had the opportunity to work with a full spectrum of clientele including high level athletes, injured/disabled, and those with chronic conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, arthritis, and osteoporosis. Recently she has specialized in functional strength training for athletes which has allowed her to utilize her skills in functional movement assessment, rehabilitation, and athlete training. She has presented and instructed in fitness, sport, academic, and corporate setting and brings her passion for teaching and healthy lifestyles to everything she does.
Janna Coleman, Cert Health & Fitness, CPT BCRPA
A former PacificSport carded athlete herself, Janna Coleman (nee Biederstadt) is excited to be a part of the preparation side of sport. Previously a North American competitor in Freestyle Mogul skiing Janna was part of the Central Interior Freestyle Ski Club, growing up along side competitors Scott Bellavance (2002 Olympian) and Chris Wong (World Cup Team Member & 2006 Olympian). After retiring from skiing in 1998, Janna decided to stay in the direction of sport and fitness where she completed a certificate in Health and Fitness from SFU and obtained her Personal Trainer status. Ultimately her true passion is found in athlete development and filling the gap between preparation and performance in our young prodigies. Born and raised in Prince George, Janna is touched that she is part of the team that is establishing athletic endeavors in northern BC.
Kaethe Gunther, BSc., RD (t)
Kaethe was born and raised in Prince George. She completed the first 2 years of her undergraduate degree at the University of Northern British Columbia and graduated from the University of Alberta with a BSc in Nutrition. Kaethe understands the link between good nutrition and athletic performance. Her presentations take into account the challenges faced by young athletes and their families when it comes to planning and preparing nutritious food.
Kristen Harrott, BSM., CSCS
Kristen Harrott is the General Manager for PacificSport Northern BC. She moved to Prince George in April 2007. Kristen graduated from Brock University with a Sport Management (honours) degree. Through out her studies she was a NCCP Level 2 Certified Figure Skating Coach.
She currently works on implementing programs based on the Canadian Sport for Life: playground to podium model into the PacificSport Northern BC menu of programs and services for athletes and coaches. She has her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist designation (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and has worked with a variety of athletes.
Ann Holmes, BPE, MHK, EdD (cand.)
Ann is a Faculty member at the College of New Caledonia. She teaches in the Department of Human Kinetics and is currently a Doctoral candidate in Education through Simon Fraser University. Ann is also a NCCP certified coach and facilitator, a YMCA volunteer fitness leader, a mental trainer with PacificSport Northern BC, and part-time golf professional (CPGA ‘Class A’ designation). She sits as a volunteer on the ProMOTION Plus Board as well as the PacificSport Northern BC Board. Ann has a young son and enjoys spending her spare time being active with her family.
Laurie Monsen, CPT and Advanced Fitness Leader, BCRPA
Laurie Monson is a B.C.R.P.A. advanced group fitness and personal trainer, A.A.N.H. Sports nutrition advisor, and a FusionTM Fitness trainer. She is also currently completing her Yoga certification. She has over 20 years experience in the fitness industry and has trained across the spectrum from high level athletes to general fitness enthusiasts both young and old. Her energy and enthusiasm is driven by pure passion for the fitness industry and participants' success.
Alyssa Rud, BSc., RD
Alyssa completed her bachelor’s of science in nutrition at the University of Alberta and her dietetic internship with Capital Health, Edmonton to become a Registered Dietitian. Alyssa loves being a dietitian and is currently employed as a Pediatric/Surgery dietitian at Prince George Regional Hospital. Alyssa also delivers nutrition seminars, workshops and shop smart tours to various groups on sport nutrition, weight management, and healthy eating. Alyssa has experienced the benefits of sports nutrition as an athlete and as a coach in many different endurance and power sports. Alyssa has always had a passion for sports nutrition and truly believes optimum nutrition makes the difference between a good athlete and a great athlete.
