ATHLETE SERVICES
ELIGIBLE ATHLETES
Athletes are identified for PacificSport Carding by their Provincial Sport Organizations (PSO) or Provincial Governing Body (i.e. Basketball BC, BC Athletics, Alpine BC). Every PSO provides a yearly carding list of eligible athletes to PacificSport based on each Sport/PSO's performance criteria. For questions and concerns regarding Athlete Eligibility please contact your PSO for information and carding criteria. All PSO's should have their PacificSport Carding Criteria posted on their website.
Athletes are carded at 4 different levels:
Provincial Development
Canadian Development
Canadian Elite
Podium
*Please note that all PacificSport Programs are open to the public and we welcome and encourage Athletes, Coaches & Parents who are not carded to take advantage of our programs and participate as much as possible. PacificSport Athlete Services are aimed at covering many aspects of life both inside and outside sport, attempting to ensure holistic development. PacificSport Athlete Services are categorized into three streams:
TRAINING SERVICES
Designed to meet the needs of high-performance athletes:
- GymWorks - Strength Training Facility Network (free or discounted access)
- SportHealth - Canadian Athlete Insurance Program & Local Medical Practitioners Network (treatment, rehabilitation & monitoring)
SUPPORT SERVICES
Designed to help athletes get the most value for their money, ensuring their limited resources can be invested directly into high performance training:
- TranSport - Athlete Travel & Transportation Grants & Discounts
- FoodStuff - Special Savings on Food Expenses. (Discounts only available for athletes' food.)
- MoreStuff - Discounts on sporting goods and training equipment.
LIFE SERVICES
Provide athletes with the tools they need to reach the podium today and in their careers as community leaders tomorrow:
