Trevor Turnbull @trevorturnbull Trevor Turnbull is a Sports Business Consultant who delivers the tools, training and strategies required to help his clients monetize their online brand. Trevor’s passion for the sports industry began while consulting with the Calgary Stampeders during the 2009 CFL Season, when he spearheaded the development of an award winning social media driven website called Stamps Connect. Trevor is a lifelong sports fan that has competed at a high level of competitive sports including participation in the CIS University Cup as a member of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies hockey program. He is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan – College of Commerce program with a major in Marketing. His company, T3 CONNECT Sports Marketing combines traditional and social media strategies to enhance sales, marketing and fundraising efforts by incorporating online influencers, integrating sponsors and activating fans. Some of Trevor’s past and current clients include the Calgary Stampeders, 2009 Grey Cup Festival, Kidsport Calgary, SportBC, Special Olympics BC, BC Hockey, UBC Thunderbird Hockey, CFL Legend - Damon Allen and current BC Lions Quarterback - Travis Lulay. |
Ryan McKee @ryanmckee With over five years of experience working with some of the top sports franchises in Vancouver, Ryan has become a trusted expert in the world of sports marketing. After acquiring a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Alberta, Ryan honed his sports business expertise at the Art Institute, where he obtained a Certificate in Entertainment Business Management. Beginning his career with the Vancouver Canucks as a marketing assistant, he managed all aspects of marketing and promotion and spearheaded several new initiatives, including Pay-Per- View and The Inside Edge. During that time, he has also acted as a consultant for the Sea to Sky Hockey Challenge and participated on the Community and Sponsorship Committee for the BC Sports Hall of Fame. More recently, he has spent the last five years as Marketing Manager at Vancouver Whitecaps FC, where he is responsible for the branding and marketing strategy for the club as they begin their inaugural season in Major League Soccer. An avid sports fan and participant, Ryan is a frequent guest instructor on sports marketing at UBC and Vancouver Film School. |

Kevin Jagger @KevinJagger Originally from Calgary, Kevin Jagger, grew up in Vancouver and attended Vancouver College where he lettered in four varsity sports (football, basketball, rowing and track & field). Jagger attended McGill University where he played football for the Redmen. After graduating from the Desautels Faculty of Management with a Finance degree, he spent three years with Citigroup as an investment banker. Watching the 2010 Olympics, Jagger was inspired to get out from behind the cubicle and try to compete again. So...he quit his job and is now training full time to become a member of Canada’s National Long Track Speed Skating Team despite having never tried the sport. Kevin maintains a blog, LongTrackLongShot.com, which chronicles his journey. |
Nicole van Zanten @nicolevanzanten As Social Media Coordinator for the Vancouver Canucks, Nicole van Zanten is responsible for all coordination, planning and execution of Social Media initiatives and campaigns. Nicole works within the Website department, and works closely with the Brand and Creative services department to develop and execute all Social Media programs. Nicole joined the Vancouver Canucks on a Marketing Internship from the Communication Department in Simon Fraser University in 2009 and joined the Website Department in her current role in 2010. |
