Top 5 reasons to become an NCI Coach
1. Achieve the Pinnacle of NCCP Training
NCI coaches are recognized as being among the most qualified coaches and leaders of athletes and sport programs provincially, nationally and internationally. The NCI Diploma is a two year part-time program aimed at developing coach competency in four core themes; Coaching Leadership, Coaching Effectiveness, Performance Planning, and Training and Competition Readiness.
2. Start your journey toward High Performance and National Team Coaching
Not only is the NCI Diploma program the pinnacle of coach education in Canada, the qualification is also recognized by Sport Canada as a requirement for National Sport Organization National Team Programs. The NCI diploma is also a required designation in becoming a Chartered Professional Coach through the Coaches of Canada.
3. Develop your own Integrated Coaching Support Team
NCI-BC coaches work with 4 theme mentors as part of their NCI Diploma Program. These mentors as well as over 20 sport science specialists provide the coach with their own integrated support team. Many coaches have used NCI specialists to help support their club, provincial or national team programs.
4. Learn from different coaches in a variety of sports
The greatest value of the NCI Diploma Program as indicated by our graduates, is the ability for coaches to interact with other coaches from a wide variety of sports. Cross-sport integration is a key component of NCI programming which allows coaches to exchange problems, challenges and successes with other like minded coaches.
5. Receive Financial Support
The NCI-BC values coaches’ attainment of NCCP qualifications and therefore will provide financial support to eligible coaches. Financial support is available in a variety of formats including tuition scholarships, travel bursaries, professional development grants and a new Canada Games coaching bursary.
