The NCI-BC is registered with the Private Career Training Institutions Agency, which ensures post-secondary career training programs meet BC Ministry of Advanced Education standards. Currently, the NCI-BC is going through some exciting changes which will enable coaches to access outstanding education and professional development opportunities.
The new Advanced Coaching Diploma is based on the four themes of Coaching Leadership, Coaching Effectiveness, Performance Planning and Training and Competition Readiness. Diploma coaches will work through a problem solving process that requires analysis, planning, and implementation of new skills and knowledge in day to day coaching. Each coach will build an electronic portfolio to provide evidence of their coaching competencies. The new NCI curriculum requires phasing out of old level 4/5 tasks in a manner consistent with the development of other NCCP multi-sport modules. Outstanding Level 4 assignments will be accepted until June 1, 2012. Coaches who wish to finish their NCCP Level 4 accreditation, should contact the NCI-BC to ensure that outstanding tasks will be accepted for marking.
